San Diego 7

So this was a close up of the cheetah! Then the wolf came along! He was a huge big playful dog! So anyway the trainer asked us all to howl and the wolf howled back! Most of the trainers us the clicker system and the animals are really good with them!

San Diego 6

So here was Jirra the Kangaroo, who was adorable!! The next bit with the cheetah was amazing!! this golden retriever and the cheetah were put together as babies and literally have grown up together and do not like to be apart! They use the dog to teach the cheetah things! It was an amazing relationship to see!

San Diego 5

So the next show we went to was with wild animals! We had this red hog called Murphy from Africa , followed byan emu called Daphne who had been performing for 20 years, followed by a little Kangaroo, who was adorable and then by a Cheetah, of course the girls were really excited about that one! Lastly by a wolf!

As our trip around continued, we saw flamingos, a Panda, although we did not get into the enclosure as the line was really long and we did not want to miss the next show, then the Koala's! Koala's sleep I think 20 hours of the day, what a life!!

San Diego 3

This was my highlight! The polar bear was playing with it's pink ball and doing very interesting manoveurs, totally oblivious to the public watching it! Out of the water was another one who was lounging around and then decided to take a stroll. We were toally amazed at how Huge they are.

San Diego 2

After the show with the sea lions we went to get lunch adn there was this mother duck taking her babies across back to their pond, it was so cute, we then went in the Sky lift which is like a gondola to the top , so this is kind of an aerial view of the zoo!

San Diego Zoo 1

Well on the spur of the moment we decided to visit San Diego Zoo! WE were suitable impressed by the size of the place and also how much they try to make a natural habitat for the animals! We did not manage to do the whole zoo, but thank goodness we have passes as we would love to make anohter trip out there soon!
WE started at the first show which had 3 sea lions participating , doing tricks, also 2 Macaws flew around the stadium. The trainers are excellent with the animals!

It is great the bond they have and they really do play well together! Kaela moved into Becca's room a few weeks ago as she wanted to sleep over but has not left yet! The 2 of them are thick as thieves!

So this last Saturday evening we decided to watch Firehouse dog! So look at this pic then! All of the family were totally into the movie, including Thandi. She is so funny as she will watch and her head goes from side to side listening! All in all everyon enjoyed the movie!

The deed is done

Kaela thoroughly enjoyed blowing out her candles and counting how many boyfriends she had!

Kaela is 5

Well hard to beleive but Kaela is 5!! We planned her party at the Lake just down the road from us. THe day turned out to be freeezing cold but that did not deter the children from having a whale of a time whilst the adults all huddled at the BBQ! My very capable sis made Kaela's cake and that was Dora the Explorer. WE got there about 2 hours before to set up everything and make sure we had all we needed. There were about 40 of us in total! Needless to say Kaela had a great time and we finally had to give in and leave as it started to rain, so folk came to the house to watch her open her pressies! Funnily enough, the next day was warm and sunny!!
